Artsource is pleased to announce our newest studio tenants at Old Customs House in Fremantle! The Wayward Jewellers Society is a newly formed group of graduates from the North Metropolitan TAFE Advanced Diploma of Jewellery Design course.

The group will join the thirty current studio artists working in the Artsource Old Customs House building, redeveloping a large ground-floor space in this landmark studios complex. The space will be configured as a shared studio to provide a cooperative and supportive approach in developing making space, offering affordable, stable rent for up to five years. This is a fantastic opportunity for these new practitioners to develop their skills and art practices in to the future, building on Artsource’s studios legacy across seven buildings.

The vibrant studio network within Old Customs House will allow the group to create a relational, collaborative space that will support and nurture their own individual emerging careers and help to fuel the development of jewellery as a contemporary arts medium. This is an exciting venture for art audiences both in Fremantle and beyond.

The Wayward Jewellers Society members are Devan Job, Susannah Kings-Lynne, Anna Pesti, Claire Taylor and Mollie Taylor. Their work uses gold, sterling silver, enamel, precious stones, found objects and textiles to produce original and unique jewellery statements. We look forward to seeing their new creative pursuits unfold in our historic building.
