STAFF

Jude van der Merwe – Executive Director
Jude has worked consistently in the visual arts for over 20 years. She has a background in textiles with a degree from Curtin University of Technology. Jenny Kerr – Manager Employment and Referral Agency
Jenny brings a wealth of community arts management experience to artsource, although she confesses that she would rather be bush-walking with the kids or doing laps in a pool. After gaining a BA in Art Education, majoring in ceramics at Curtin University of Technology in the early 80’s, she taught visual art and developed education programs for institutions including Perth Institute of Contemporary Art and the Art Gallery of WA before taking on the Community Arts Officer position at the Mundaring Arts Centre. Since arriving at artsource in November 2004, Jenny has managed the employment agency, working with clients to develop art programs and commissions, making a significant contribution to the advocacy of best practice models of public art commissioning and employment opportunities for artists.

Yvonne Holland – General Manager
Yvonne is an escapee of the banking world (still free after16 years). Originally from Katanning, in country WA, she has spent the last 8 years nourishing her soul working with arts organisations in Perth; as Operations Manager with Country Arts WA and Finance Manager with Form. Since joining artsource at the end of 2004, Yvonne has whipped everyone into shape and is building an inspiring studio & residency program. She does more finance in the arts than she ever did in the bank but relishes the opportunity to work with artists.

Ron Bradfield Jnr – Manager Regional + Indigenous program
Ron is of the Bardi Mob - ‘Bulgin’ - Cape Leveque.  Mostly though, he did his growing up years in Geraldton.  After ten years of playing Army and Navy games, Ron was allowed to rejoin the world of normal people.  Ron has primarily worked in the Youth and Community Development field across urban, rural, remote and regional WA.  His fascination with art came through watching his brother Bruce; grow into the deadly Artist he is today. Combine this with his passion for peoples; their differing cultures and ways of viewing their own ‘place in country’, and you end up with an unusual all-rounder, who happily fits in just about anywhere.  Ron believes art is a ‘yarn’, and that you’re sharing a story.  Ron loves a good ‘yarn’, and has been known to write a few too.

Marc Springhetti - Coordinator Memberships and Administration
Marc is currently on hiatus from studying towards a BA in Visual Arts at Curtin University to see what practice ‘outside’ could be like. Marc is also a practicing artist who has participated in various group shows as well as being involved with the now defunct artist run space Palm Court, which has led to an increased interest in artist activity and organization. As well as making stuff, he has a keen interest in arts writing and curatorial activities.

Tom Freeman – Coordinator Client Services
Tom recently attained his BA from Curtin University. He has been actively exhibiting over the past few years, and has recently been involved in Palmcourt, a local artist run initiative. Along with his art practice in video, drawing, sculpture and installation, he is interested in curating, writing, and thinking. While admittedly focused on his art practice, Tom hopes to build some fresh directions for artsource, catering as finely as is possible to its members' diverse needs.

Pascal Veyradier – Coordinator Publications
Pascal is responsible for the day to day management of anything artsource publishes, including the web site. This nicely balances his creative urge with his interest in people – and yes, he came all the way from Paris just to do that! In past lives, Pascal has worked as an editor, photojournalist, curator and event organiser. His incessant curiosity still drives him around. He may write a cook book one day; and shift all our offices down stairs, to the coffee shop…
