Biography

Nigel graduated from Curtin University in 2014 with a Masters degree in Art and since then has been practicing as a professional artist. In 2015 he received the Clyde & Co. Art Award and had a painting commissioned for the Luciano Benetton Collection in Italy. For the past three years he has worked from a studio in the Heathcote Cultural Precinct, Applecross, resulting in a first solo exhibition at CASM in Mandurah where he exhibited works from his ‘Australian Light’ and ‘Ambiguous Romanticism’ series. He has been a finalist in several Western Australian and interstate art awards and has had work displayed digitally at MoMA, New York. His second solo exhibition held earlier this year: ‘Sound and Silence', also included prints, produced while working at The Swan River Print Studio. He was recently shortlisted for the Australian Print Triennial Print Award sponsored by La Trobe university.
