Artsource services used:
Mirvac approached artsource to assist in the appointment of an artist to take the role of Project Artist for the proposed development at Kenny Bay south of Perth. The Project Artist will contribute to overall infrastructure design of the development.
Looking for a market advantage Mirvac sought to engage an artist at an early stage in the project design.
Artsource approach
This project provided and exceptional opportunity to bring an artist onto a design team at the very earliest stage of development.
The Project Artist will identify opportunities for art works and develop an overarching concept plan. The artist is expected to contribute in like manner to other professionals and will be paid accordingly. The project is expected to be developed in several stages and take up to 10 years to plan and implement. The selected artist is expected to stay with the project for the development of stage one which may take up to five years.
Tom Muller was selected for the project by interview, from a group of five artists. This represents a new move in his practice and one that allows for considerable scope for his particular talents and expertise.
artsource and Mirvac will work together to ensure that the artist involvement is managed and supported.
