Artistically highlighting the importance of sustainability

In line with LandCorp’s commitment to social sustainability, eight stunning new artworks have just been installed at Harvest Lakes estate.

The sculptures and work for a wall have all been inspired by key components of sustainability and the environment in which they are sited. The works seek to interpret, provoke inquiry and assist the community to understand the environment from a variety of perspectives.

To ensure the success of the project, LandCorp partnered with Artsource and made a commitment to include an education and training component to the project.
More than 60 artists submitted an expression of interest, with 23 subsequently short listed.

Significantly, so impressed was the selection panel with the calibre of work produced by the short listed artists that LandCorp decided to commission seven sculptures instead of the pre-determined five.

From an arts industry perspective, the project was important not only because it involved the commissioning of eight works by emerging artists, but it also provided valuable training and education for all artists who expressed and interest in being involved.

Details regarding each of the artists selected and images of their pieces can be viewed by visiting the www.landcorp.com.au and clicking onto Harvest Lakes.
