A diverse ensemble of Artsource Fremantle studio artists will open their doors to the art world and Perth community on Saturday 9 November, 2-5pm.
Artsource invites people to Old Customs House, home to our Fremantle studios, to share studio practice that is normally hidden behind closed doors. Visitors will have a unique opportunity to explore the various studios, talk to some of WA’s finest artists, learn what’s new in the local arts scene and even buy something for their private collection.
The self-guided Open Studios tour will showcase the work of more than 25 artists working across mediums including painting, sculpture, illustration, photography, printmaking, ceramics, physical theatre and music.
This year's event features a number of artists new to Artsource studios, giving long-time Open Studios visitors a chance to explore the achievements of exciting new talent, alongside artists they already know and have followed for many years.
Fremantle Open Studios is an annual Artsource event that invites the public to interact with our member artists in their working spaces. It is an exciting celebration of the visual arts and creative process.
“Coming to an Open Studios event is a great way to get the inside story on some of WA’s most exciting artists”, said Gavin Buckley, CEO of Artsource.
Artsource Fremantle studios are housed in the Old Customs House; a heritage-listed property that has been an artist’s haven within the Fremantle maritime district for over two decades. The private studios provide a space where artists can explore ideas and develop their work. The building has also been home to the Artsource head office for over 25 years.
Artsource is committed to providing affordable creative spaces for artists in order to develop their careers and foster a vibrant arts community in Western Australia.
Artsource manages over 80 private studios located in Midland, Leederville, East Perth, Kelmscott, Belmont, Churchlands and White Gum Valley and Fremantle.
