Artsource members, including Adam Stanley, Ian Beniston, Jenny Sanderson (Heron Drive Studios), Jill Warnock, John Garde (Tinkahill Studio & Gallery), Kay Gibson (STUDIO 35), Rachel Coad, Susan Sheppard (Church Gallery), Valma Rhodes (Heron Drive Studios) and Voytek Kozlowski are participating in a new Open Studios initiative in the Margaret River region. From Easter Saturday over 80 artists are opening their studio doors to the public.

Gavin Buckley, Artsource CEO, said, “I was delighted to attend the launch of the Margaret River Open Studios event, hosted by Tricia and Denis Horgan at Leeuwin Estate. It was great to meet some of the artists who are opening their studios and I wish them and the organisers every success with this new initiative.

The organisers hope to make the Open Studios into an annual Regional Art Festival to showcase the increasingly diverse and vibrant visual arts throughout the Margaret River Region.  Bill Castleden, Chair or MRROS said, “Our vision is to develop the event into a celebrated festival of art benefiting the entire community, art loving public and the whole Margaret River Region.”

The inaugural two-week Margaret River Region Open Studios event runs from 19 April to 4 May. More information is available here and the Guide and Catalogue may be read online here.
