Global City 2-for-1 campaign

Artsource Global City Residency
Basel, Switzerland

Poised on the banks of the Rhine River, Basel is the cultural capital of Switzerland and an entry point to the rest of Europe. It is a perfect place for an artist residency. Since 1989, Artsource has partnered with the Atelier Mondial to offer artists from both countries a unique opportunity to enrich and develop their art practices.

Brad Rimmer is is our 2017 recipient of the Global City Basel Residency. He is interested in how our past, our experiences and our emotions shape us. For the six-week residency, Brad will produce a substantial body of images to explore new ideas and directions in his photographic practice.

Global City 2-for-1 Appeal: Singapore

With your help, we can send more professional artists on residency to develop their practice, advance their careers and build important international networks. Joining our Global City 2-for-1 Appeal will see your donation doubled by Creative Partnerships Australia. We are aiming to raise $15,000 by Christmas to put towards not just one, but two artist residencies to the bustling metropolis of Singapore.

Second only to studios as the most valuable support we offer to professional artists, we are excited to be adding Singapore to our Global City Residencies portfolio.

Why Singapore? Singapore is a major visual arts hub for the region with existing connections for Australian artists, gallerists and curators. There is a thriving arts community, with a number of residency opportunities for research, art production and critical discourse.

Artsource is developing additional Global City Residencies to create new opportunities for members and foster the visual arts in our state. Our goal is to develop and offer a range of quality residencies, of varying lengths, open to artists at different stages in their careers. Fundraising has begun and ideas for potential destinations and support are welcome. Please contact our Studios and Residencies Manager, Loretta Martella:
