Charmaine Ball

Biography

Charmaine Ball is an emerging painter and ceramicist. Formerly a Graphic Designer, she completed her Advanced Diploma of Visual Arts and Crafts at the NMTAFE in 2016. Her work is held in the NMTAFE as well as the Melville art collection. In 2017 she won the Clyde & Co Art Award for emerging talent in the visual arts. Since graduating Charmaine has taken part in group exhibitions at Gallery Central, Nyisztor Gallery, Smart Casual Gallery and more recently at the Heathcote Cultural Precinct. Charmaine has a studio at Artsource in Fremantle.

Artist Statement

I am exploring the use of geometry, optical effects, repetition and the interplay between rhythmic elements and the underlying grid structure. The clarity and order creates an opportunity for contemplation in a world dominated by visual information.
