Artsource, supported by BHP Billiton, is proud to help WA artists take the next step to ignite their career.

The Artsource Ignite initiative supports visual artists who are ready to take the next step in developing their careers. This includes, but is not limited to, a professional development activity, research towards new work, or developing an exhibition, production or publication. It can include undertaking some form of activity that will assist in the journey or by taking a risk on a new venture, project or path. Projects which include the benefit of a mentor to guide the artists in a new practical experience will be highly regarded.

Our Ignite initiative, supported by BHP Billiton, provides funding for visual artists who are ready to take the next step in their artistic careers.

The call out attracted a record number of applications from all over Western Australia - not surpising when artists were encouraged to think big and propose their dream project.

The successful artists and their projects vary greatly and here we invite you to discover more about the artists and their practice as they report and reflect on their Ignite projects to date.
