Mel McVee

Biography

Mel McVee completed her Bachelor Degree in Sculpture in the 90's and has since received numerous awards for her works. She has also completed a number of public murals in Perth and Mexico, and in 2014 founded the Laneway Collective, an organisation incorporating local street artists and community.

Artist Statement

Mel is a Perth born multi-disciplinary artist working primarily in the realms of community art and murals. Her interested in street art emerged through an interest in community activation projects in her local area. Her work celebrates what is locally beautiful and quintessentially Australian using bold, intensively colorful form and lines.
