Lace Assemblages is a series of critically engaged textile-based artworks by Molly Ryan. The body of work results from a two-year practice-led research project where textiles and textile processes have been used as a form of dialogue to explore the materiality of ancestral lace textiles. The large-scale pieces invite viewers to expand their understanding of heirloom cloth artefacts as tools that can extend social and cultural knowledge.
