Biography

Art and the creative process has always been an integral part of my life. I have participated in exhibitions in Perth and in the South West including three solo exhibitions in Bunbury and a collaborative exhibition at the Collie Regional Art Gallery. My work has been published in the Sydney based national Art/Edit magazine and also invited to exhibit in the Agora Gallery Chelsea NY. In 2023 I was awarded a special commendation for the Self Represented Art Awards featured in the Autumn edition 2024 Australian Art/Edit national magazine. My passion and inspiration with its richness of colour and ruggedness initially lay in the Australian landscape. The use of colour has always been an important factor in expressing my impressions and insight into my work as a painter. More recently I have changed direction to an abstract form of art work culminating in a more spontaneous result.

Artist Statement

Painting in the abstract is a powerful way of expressing ideas that gives me the opportunity to create a subliminal narrative in my the work. Inspiration of my artwork begins with an emotional reaction to the personal and environment. The colours and the marks I make are instinctive and spontaneous.
