Biography

Kirsty Griffiths, is a 52 year old Perth based artist and designer who has done many commissions and oil paintings and other artworks throughout her life. Kirsty identifies as a person with lived experience of mental illness. It doesn’t define her, but she has learned from it as being more of a journey developing life skills and meeting like minded people & networking. After being born in Sydney in 1974, she moved to Perth and grew up in Armadale, after completing year 12 TEE, she went on to study some units at TAFE in graphic design and fashion design but did not complete these courses as she moved to Sydney and found work in the office doing secretarial and clerical work while painting on weekends. Since leaving school in 1991, Kirsty has entered various art competitions and in 2008 she received a ‘Commended’ certificate at the Perth Royal show art awards.
