Biography

African born and thus richly inspired - Australian influenced and thus deeply connected. My work (inspired by our wild surrounds) has always encompassed the patterns, textures and colours of diverse and exciting experience. My studio practice includes a range of skills and experimentation from detailed and intimate rendering inspired from nature - through to large canvas pieces involving textural layering and exploration of surfaces but I can't escape the design background and the technical attributes gleaned over years of practice. They are forever referenced in my work. I am lucky enough to have always worked - with passion - in the arts and that's with a growing family and moving country a couple of times. I am a wife and a proud mum of two talented and beautiful children. Love to share my skills and am grateful for all the creative opportunities that have crossed my path.

Artist Statement

Excited about surfaces and their possibilities, the ability to tell stories and inspire space. The layering and intimate detailing that can be integrated - enriched and inspired by many years in Africa, where buildings - become the canvas - carved, painted, scratched and worked over by delft hand. A blank wall/surface becomes a calling card for creativity.
