Biography

Born in Western Australia, I studied Fine Arts at Curtin University, WA and Canberra School of Art, ACT. I completed a Masters in Cultural Heritage from Curtin University in 2003 and worked as an artist in residence at the West Australian Museum. I also work as a curator. My curatorial work usually focuses on social history exhibitions and artists working in museums. I currently work part time at the City of Perth where I am the Memorabilia and Social History Curator.

Artist Statement

'Mystery, Warmth, Discomfort, Assuredness' Description of my paintings by David Sequiera Oct 2013 My abstract paintings use colour and the transparency of oil paint to explore ideas of place (particularly underwater landscapes). I am primarily a painter but enjoy taking visual arts to a wider audience through public art projects and workshops.
