Biography
Alice Anna Ford is an interdisciplinary artist born in 1997 in Boorloo, Perth, currently residing and working in
Australia's South West on Whadjuk and Wadandi Boodja. Working across drawing, painting, architecture, publishing,
film and installation, Ford positions her artworks as value-recalibrating machines that reconnect the human to the
more-than-human. Using contemporary mechanical language, she employs drawn blueprints and written instructions,
manuals and codices to curate each work's encounter. Bound by strategies of defamiliarization, or strange making,
her projects evoke other-worldly environments operating across multiple scales; compelling, surreal, gently
comedic, ecologically disturbing. Vibrant colour, distorted focus, absurd scale and sharp detail move throughout spatially curated portals, with sequences connected by movement featuring prominently across her work.
