Biography
B R A H A M STEVENS an Australian based environmentally conscious collaborative artist, whose site-specific sculptures & thought provoking interventions are conceived to engage with their environments, connecting to their surroundings through gesture, form, motif, texture & surface treatment.
The artist draws inspiration from the complex patterns found in nature & science with a deep interest in the fragile interrelationship between all living systems.
Initially working ephemerally with found materials, the artist started experimenting with stone, recycled metal & alloy to make more permanent structures.
Braham’s evolving practice explores the philosophical overarching themes of duality, universal interconnectivity & cycles of impermanence & re-birth - it is an extension of the long standing biomorphic sculpture movement & tradition.
