Tom Ansell

Biography

Tom Ansell lives in the South-West region of WA, where he exhibits frequently. Having left high school to embark on his artistic pursuit at 16, he has since continued his training through local TAFE campuses, eventually completing a BA: Visual Art at ECU Bunbury. He has recently completed his post-graduate studies in Visual Art, where he focused on mark-making and the human figure through the creation of a large body of work consisting of drawings and paintings. Recently, his art is exploring suggestivity - asking how much or how little is required to make the subject recognisable yet flexible and implicit.

Artist Statement

My art is an exploration of asking questions through making images that reflect human qualities, primarily through mark-making with a focus on movement, line, and flow.
