Biography

Carolyn Bye is a Perth based emerging artist. Painting contemporary botanicals with watercolour. Graduating in 2019 with a Bachelor of Visual Arts from ECU Mt Lawley, winning the Oxlade Art Award at her graduation. Carolyn has been selected a finalist at well known Western Australian art prizes, including Perth Royal Art Prize and Rockingham Art Prize. Her goal is to make art for entry into art prizes. Carolyn values volunteering at her local art gallery and at other local art exhibitions.

Artist Statement

My art practice is inspired through mindful observation of botanicals. I'm particularly interested in the blooming cycle of flowering plants. My artworks depict flora changes through seasons; day and night. I began my explorations using oils, my chosen medium at present is watercolour. I'm enthusiastic to explore other mediums into the future.
