Biography
Janet Fountain was born (1956) in regional Victoria, Australia. She enjoyed drawing in ink from a young age. She took to painting when she moved to Mount Isa in remote northwest Queensland and encountered the Flying Arts School. There she painted the rugged local landscape, and industrial scenes of Mount Isa Mines.
She has work in the State of Queensland collection (landscape panel paintings on canvas) and in the National Gallery of Australia print collection (lino prints).
