Biography

Joie Villeneuve was born in Minnesota, USA and received a BFA from the Minneapolis College of Art & Design. After spending a decade in New Mexico she immigrated to Perth, Western Australia in 2008 and now considers this home. In addition to regular gallery exhibitions her work is included in numerous private and corporate collections across the world.

Artist Statement

Through remembering the past, experiencing the present and imagining the future, this work drifts between all three at once. Without intending to be linear or literal, the representations become metaphors and symbols for a life lived above and beyond this one.
