Biography

I trained at the School of Art and Craft in Adelaide in the late 1970’s, majoring in painting and ceramics. I took further studies in 2D design, and then Jewellery, Metal and 3D Design at Curtin. After a residency at the Clocktower studio my colleagues and I formed the artist collective Aeon Design Studio, and we exhibited nationally. I played a key role in establishing the organisation known as Artsource in the mid 90's. Then, after attaining a teaching degree, I taught visual art to young people for over a decade. My recent practice is based in the theoretical context of connective aesthetics, relational and dialogical art. I work within a democratised notion of connecting and collaborating with creative strangers, in global projects, to produce works exhibited in online platforms. These projects explore what 'connects us' as humans living on one planet.

Artist Statement

I am a multidisciplinary visual artist. Recent work has evolved in the contexts of connective aesthetics and dialogical art. I work within a democratised notion of connecting with 'creative strangers', in global collaborations using modes such as mail art and photography, to produce works exhibited in online platforms.
