Biography

Nada is an Australian Artist inspired by the Australian landscape and artists. An artist from at an early age, her home sat where, 100 years before, the artists of the Heidelberg school had painted. One of her earliest works was a portrait of her first grade teacher, remembered as kind person, deserving of such a labour of love. Many teachers to follow would influence her future, training her to observe human behaviour or the act of drawing with a brush. After carrying these two threads for many years she established her studio in 2000 to provide a base from which to adventure out from, to fine tune the work, and exhibit and share. A life long fascination with the endearing and enduring qualities of glass has her led her recently to integrate glass work in her process exploring a relationship to her painting with light, colour and form.

Artist Statement

Contemporary life is many ways disconnects people from the land so the art works to pull that back into contemporary consciousness. Important too: recording how things are before they become something completely transformed. The land is integrally connected to the question "Who walked here before?" and the lasting or transient imprint of humanity.
