"Rio Tinto is proud to support Artsource
through our Pilbara Arts Programme partnership, from July 2013 to June 2016. It is a renewal of our ongoing support for arts development in the region, through a partnership with Artsource since 2008."

"The $390,000 partnership will assist Artsource to identify and support the development of initiatives and programmes to increase the capacity and professional development of local Indigenous artists and arts centres, through workshops, mentoring and training to achieve long-term sustainability of Indigenous arts in the Pilbara.

In 2013 we provided more than $3.1 million to Pilbara organisations and community organisations, supporting more than 40 initiatives, for the development of arts and cultural programmes in the region, including the Shire of Roebourne’s Arts and Cultural Programme, Red Earth Arts Festival, Cossack Art Award and the Shire of Ashburton Community Events and Festivals programme.

We also coordinate the annual Colours of our Country art exhibition, providing an opportunity for Pilbara Indigenous artists to exhibit and showcase their works to a wider audience in Perth throughout three weeks every September.

We are committed to supporting large, state-wide cultural organisations including the Art Gallery of Western Australia, Black Swan State Theatre Company, Disability in the Arts, Disadvantaged in the Arts WA (DADAA), Film and Television Institute, Musica Viva, Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts and Perth International Arts Festival."
