Kerise Delcoure

Biography

A life-long passion for art has led me to a career in the field of visual art. In 2004, I received my Bachelor of Fine Art from Savannah College of Art & Design. I received my Graduate Diploma for Education in 2005 from Curtin University. I have spent the last two decades teaching Art, whilst balancing my own practice as a mural artist. Working in the public sphere is a wonderful opportunity to engage the local community whilst also drawing attention to the vibrant, yet fragile world of nature around us. In addition to my own art making, I am passionate about helping young people to unlock their creative potential through teaching, workshops and residencies in schools.

Artist Statement

I am process-oriented in my approach to art-making, with a love for colour, pattern and detail. Working across a range of 2D media, I enjoy creating graphic and stylised compositions based on nature, with particular emphasis on Australian flora and fauna. My studio practice includes original artworks, commissions, murals and workshops.
