Alana Grant

Through a cross disciplinary art practice imagery is used to interpret, dissect and share my internal and external observations of humanity. My formal Visual Arts training started in the TAFE system in 2001, at The Great Southern college in Albany WA. Further art studies continued through the Perth, Bunbury, Broome, and Lismore TAFE, followed by Southern Cross University, NSW and IKON art therapy institute QLD. For the year of 2018 you can find me working on site in my studio at the Contemporary Art Space Mandurah (CASM) under a one year Artist in Residency program.

Artist Statement

My art practice is cross disciplinary. I use ceramic sculpture, photography, drawing, collage, painting and ephemeral art to examine humanity, tell a story or portray an emotion. In style my work can be described as idiosyncratic, feminine and earth based. My strengths and motivation are working with the community to use art as a way to build connections.
