Rachelle Dusting

Biography

Rachelle graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree [Honours] from the University of Western Australia. Her studio is based in Perth's south, where she works from private commissions and exhibition projects. Since graduating, Rachelle has spent time as a tutor at UWA, a Drawing Instructor with H.U. Kendall & Co. Jacksons Drawing Supplies, Inspired Living Foundation, Awesome Arts, and tutoring privately. Her works span several genres from realistic oil painting to whimsical illustration and murals. Rachelle is a current member of the Madorla Art Award committee, overseeing the Award's social media platforms. Rachelle has recently been selected as the tendered artist for City of Canning's first Developer Funded Public Art. Rachelle's vision is to make a greater contribution towards WA's creative culture and uplift the art community.

Artist Statement

My style is mostly driven through narratives - depicting stories influenced by personal revelations that take place within my everyday. I'm also really fascinated by past and present ideas of beauty in painting and the conversation that takes place between the artwork and the viewer.
