Public Art Professional Development (2019)

Artsource was pleased to partner with the Chamber of Arts and Culture WA recently to present the professional development session Public Art: Getting it Right So it Doesn't Go Wrong.

The seminar included sessions with public art consultant Helen Curtis (APPARATUS), artist Rick Vermey and arts lawyer Michael Tucak, who addressed the common problems or obstacles that can arise in public art commissions, how to avoid or resolve them, and how to get the best chances for success.

It was fantastic to see a significant number of individual artists in attendance, many of whom were Artsource members, as well as a huge presence of local government delegates.

We look forward to building on our cooperation with Western Australian arts organisations aiming to reach a wide cross-section of the visual arts community and drive better policy development for the sector.
